It’s the season of giving but that includes treating yourself too, so while you’re shopping for all the things you’re going to gift to loved ones, take the time to stop off for a cocktail at Selfridges’ Fount Bar where Waterford is in residence. Waterford has maintained its reputation as the finest makers of crystal drinkware and home decoration for over two hundred years, with its designs coveted around the world, and now you can see the Irish brand’s craftsmanship up close at the Fount Bar takeover.
The bar, in the department store’s accessories hall, features an elegant display of Waterford drinkware, including the iconic Lismore pattern, inspired by the towers, pointed arches and curved windows of Lismore Castle in County Waterford, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. As well as giving you the chance to check out the range in all its glory, you’ll be able to sip on a cocktail or two from a specially curated menu, served in the brand’s brilliantly clear crystal glasses.
Once you’ve had your drinks, head to the Waterford concession on the lower ground floor of Selfridges to see even more of its crystal items, and you can even get a piece hand-personalised by the Waterford Master Craftsmen, who’ll be in-store each weekend. That’s one set of Christmas presents sorted.
