If you’ve yet to try Thai supper club Ginn Khao, you’ll wanna clear the first weekend of February and get down to Tuck Shop in Hackney Wick. As well as being a grocer, butcher, bottle shop, refill store, coffee shop and bar all rolled into one, the Fish Island spot also hosts kitchen takeovers and the Ginn Khao one is shaping up to be a real good one. The northern Thai menu includes dishes like whipped miso tofu with jerusalem artichoke, mint, leek & chilli oil; nam prik ong aubergine with chestnut relish; fermented mushroom & sticky rice choux farci; braised pork five spice stew with tofu, egg & greens; and steamed pandan & coconut layered jelly.
