gilles peterson to open pop-up record and book shop in stokey

Record shop and bookstore Look Up, curated by Gilles Peterson, is popping up at Stoke Newington’s Edwards Lane Gallery this September in aid of mental health charity Safaplace. Not only has Peterson chosen the records, books and artwork to go on sale, including ‘Strange Labrynth’ by Will Ashon, Jordan Rakei’s ‘Wallflower’ and pieces from the Connor Brothers, he’s also got a range of guests joining him in-store for interviews. Throughout the week he’ll be chatting to the likes of Goldie, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, James Lavelle and Dave Haslam, and there’ll also be two spesh music nights – one at The Old Church with Jordan Rakei, Yazmin Lacey and Aaron Unknown and a closing party at Five Miles with Daphni and HAAi. All the proceeds from everything sold in the shop and from the ticket sales will go to Safaplace, so you’ll be doing a right good deed by getting involved.
