Giannino Dal 1899 opened in Milan 120 years ago and now it’s expanding outside of Italy for the first time by coming to London. The Italian restaurant will be opening in Mayfair this February, bringing the same refined take on traditional Italian dishes that has made the place so popular in Milan – staying open for 120 years ain’t too shabby.
The menu is set to include faves from Milan, including baba di lasagane al ragu Napoletano; spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino; red prawns crudo; and orange cannoncini with namelaka cream and raspberry sauce, which is the Giannino version of the classic Sicilian dessert. As well as the food, the London outpost is promising to recreate the same aesthetic as its Italian counterpart, so we’re expecting the place to look pretty fancy too.
