A new champagne bar has popped up in the West End and it’s selling bargain bubbles in one of the city’s priciest postcodes. A glass of champagne at the Veuve Champagne Bar will set you back just £2.33 and that’s because the booze comes from Aldi. As well as the cheap Veuve Monsigny Champagne, you can bag a glass of rose for £2.83, champagne cocktails from between £1.09 – £2.69, and Zerzecco for those off the sauce for mere pennies at 49p a glass.
According to the first drinkers in the bar, who had no idea where the fizz came from, it tastes just like Moet & Chandon but will only set you back £13.99 for a bottle so clearly it’s one to stock up on. And a round of drinks under a tenner in Central London? We’ll take that.
