Get a real taste of the Philippines without leaving Shoreditch – yep no actual travel required – as Don Papa rum opens Casa Sugarlandia this month. Inspired by the island of Negros, known locally as Sugarlandia, this two-storey, multi-sensory bar will be bringing the Filipino flavour to East London for three weeks.
You can jump on the mic and get involved in masked karaoke, with Sink The Pink hosting the first session; feast on Filipino food courtesy of Sarap, Mae Williams and The Adobros (with the last two also hosting special supper club experiences); and take part in cocktail masterclasses. Naturally, the Don Papa rum will be flowing too, with a bespoke menu of cocktails on offer throughout the pop-up, with artist Fernando La Posse turning the Filipino sugar used to make the rum into garnishes.
