Wimbledon may feel like a distant memory, but tennis fans across London will be getting excited this week as the Laver Cup comes to town. The tournament, which was co-founded by Roger Federer and inspired by golf’s Ryder Cup, puts Europe’s six best players against a team from the rest of the world. This year’s edition, held at the O2, will see Europeans such as Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev battle it out against the likes of Taylor Fritz and Alex De Minaur representing the rest of the world.
There’s also a lot of excitement off the court, as the Laver Cup’s Official LifeWear Partner UNIQLO is hosting an immersive Fan Zone in Peninsula Square. The pop-up will feature exclusive merchandise, including the UNIQLO Roger Federer cap, created to commemorate the legend’s induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2026. Ahead of the tournament, Federer is leading a Next Generation Development Programme clinic for young players, alongside renowned coach Severin Lüthi.
This is the first time the Laver Cup has been held in London since the 2022 edition, at which Federer retired from professional tennis.
