Always wanted to go to Texas? There’s no need to leave London this summer as the Lone Star State is coming to you, with A Taste of Texas at The Blues Kitchen. In collaboration with Travel Texas, The Blues Kitchen restaurant in Brixton will be turning Texan during July and August, with special food, drinks, music and more.
The limited-edition dishes created exclusively for the occasion include Texas Brisket Tacos and Beer Battered Salmon Tacos from Tex-Mex outfit Beto & Sons, and The Big Texan Beef, a burger stacked with brisket, beef sausage, onion rings, cheddar, pickled jalapeno salsa & chipotle BBQ sauce, from Dallas burger joint Nitro Burgers. Chef, restaurant owner and Texas legend Julian Rodarte will be providing the drinks, with Spicy Strawberry & Jalapeno Margaritas, Prickly Pear Margaritas and Smokey Palomas on the menu. And it ain’t a Texas takeover without music, so you can expect live shows from the likes of Jarrod Dickenson, plus nights dedicated to Texan stars like Beyonce, Willie Nelson and Erykah Badu.
