Now’s the time to hit up this Camden Market pub
Opened by the guys behind Le Bab and Tape at the beginning of the year, The Dark Horse is a pub that’s as big on music as it is food and drink. The boozer nods to Camden’s rich musical heritage with regular live music, special guest performances and industry events, with plenty of original music art and photography lining the walls of the Victorian stable building.
Le Bab’s Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet have designed the menu, which features classic pub dishes like:
- Welsh rarebit crumpets
- bangers and mash with onion gravy
- fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce
- The Dark Horse burger – dry-aged beef patty, American cheese, roasted pork belly, gravy & crackling
- ham, egg & chip butty
- chocolate & cherry trifle
- apple crumble with vanilla custard
- Sunday roasts with rare breed meats and all the trimmings
Naturally the drinks are on point – the bar is stocked with cocktails, wines, spirits and ice cold beers, which are even better up on the sun-trap terrace, where you can also tuck into pizzas and sharing platters.
