Plant-based Peckham spot Omni, run by George Matheou and Jess McGill, is all about showcasing the best seasonal ingredients and the variety of vegan food as well as being as sustainable as possible. The duo take inspo from global flavours to create their sharing plates menu, which changes up regularly to make use of the best veggies as they’re in season. They also put any leftovers to good use by stock-making, pickling and fermenting in an effort to be as low-waste as possible, and the restaurant only stocks natural wines from small independent producers across Europe.
The Omni ‘All in’ menu, which costs £40 per person, is made up of ten plates and features dishes like:
- spring greens ‘seaweed’ with chipotle sugar
- braised onion with winter spices
- mushroom dumplings with Jerusalem artichoke
- winter Iberiko tomatoes with horseradish, tomato skin furikake and tapioca
- celeriac okonomiyaki with miso aioli and mushroom skewers
- cola braised aubergine with corn taco
