The pizzeria group is celebrating 15 years in the game by opening restaurant number six
After meeting in Napoli in the nineties, Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio decided to bring their take on authentic Neapolitan pizza to London, setting up the first Santa Maria restaurant in Ealing in 2010. It was named London’s Best Pizza by Time Out after just two months of opening and the pair have been on an upward trajectory ever since, opening pizzerias in Fulham, Fitzrovia, Islington, Kew Gardens, and now Paddington.
At the Paddington restaurant, located within the historic Frontline Club, you can expect all the Santa Maria classics, including garlic focaccia, bruschetta with burrata and nduja, aubergine parmigiana, and award-winning pizzas like:
- Santa Caterina – tomato, fior di latte, salame Napoli, fresh chilli, parmesan
- Santa Carmela – tomato, fior di latte, cotto ham, mushrooms, parmesan
- San Rocco – veggie ragu tomato sauce, roasted aubergine, rocket, burrata, parmesan
- San Giuseppe – fior di latte, smoked mozzarella, wild broccoli, Yorkshire sausage, parmesan
- Sant’Alba – mushroom & truffle cream base, vegan mozzarella, fresh chilli, artichokes, black olives
- Calzone San Salvatore – folded pizza with tomato, fior di latte, buffalo ricotta, cotto ham, salame Napoli, parmesan
You can pair your pizzas with a short selection of wines, spritzes and beers (including the zesty Birra Santa Maria IPA, brewed exclusively for the group by Bianca Road Brew Co), and don’t skip the tiramisu either.
