Taco fans, we’ve got some very good news
Breddos Tacos, one of the OGs of London’s taco scene, has seen big success over in Clerkenwell and now the team is expanding with a new site opening in Stoke Newington, taking over the space left by Tigre Tacos above mezcal bar Doña. And this is where things get really interesting because Breddos no.2 is going to focus on the food of Tijuana and Baja California.
The new site will have the same vibe as the Clerkenwell original – a strong tequila and mezcal cocktail list, an eclectic vinyl collection, Mexican street food – but the menu will be heavily influenced by Head Chef Ian Ciapara’s memories of growing up in Playas de Tijuana. That means dishes like:
- Ensenada-style spicy seafood tostadas with ceviche, shellfish, salsa macha & avocado
- Tijuanese carne asada tacos
- Pollo al carbon tacos
- Quesa birria with aged beef short rib, cheek, oxtail & brisket
As well as doing lunch and dinner, the Stokey restaurant will also serve up Mexican brunch on the weekend, featuring the likes of birria de res.
