A slice of Oaxaca has come to Shoreditch
Christian Pecoraro, Florian Schulze, and Horacio Sainz, a trio who have experience across hospitality, design, architecture and music, have teamed up to open Mexican bar Little Fires in Shoreditch. Inspired by the spirit of Oaxaca, Little Fires is all about mezcals, Mexican small plates and music. The cocktail list has been created in collaboration with the team from Oaxaca bar (also on the World’s 50 Best list) Sabina Sabe, and features serves like:
- Little Fires Picante – made with mole fatwashed Tapatio Reposado Tequila, Briottet Triple Sec, lime juice and agave
- Jungle Coatis – made with Explorer Blanco Tequila, Lost Explorer Espadin Mezcal Blend, Campari, dragon fruit, grapefruit, lime and Devil’s Botany Absinthe Regalis
- Corn Colada – made with Cazcabel Anejo Tequila, corn syrup, Coco Lopez, pineapple and lime juice
- Chimichurri Martini – made with chimichurri fatwashed Cazcabel Blanco, Tio Pepe Sherry, Noilly Prat Vermouth and pickled Fresno chilli brine
- Clarified Coffee Negroni – made with Doghouse Renegade Gin, Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur, Campari and Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino
The bar is also serving natural and low-intervention wines, including bottles from Oaxaca and other Mexican regions. Rodolfo Castellanos, chef-owner of Origen Oaxaca, has consulted on the food menu, creating dishes like tosta de carne asada, duck confit taco with mole sauce, chilli adobo scallop skewers, and plantain croquettes.
And if you want a little boogie, head downstairs to the hi-fi bar, where you’ll be able to get your mezcal drinks with a side of ambient, jazz, dub and lo-fi from the roster of DJs.
