Treat yourself to an Italian-inspired brunch this January
Italian bakery Capilungo is all about bringing a slice of Lecce, a picturesque city in Puglia, to Covent Garden. The pasticciotto, a traditional Puglian pastry filled with cream (flavours include custard, cherry, pistachio and chocolate), is a Capilungo signature but there’s everything from freshly-baked focaccia to mozzarella and tomato rustico pastries on offer too.
And if you want something a little heartier, Capilungo runs a brunch menu featuring classics with a southern Italian twist, including:
- eggs benedict with Capocollo di Martina Franca ham
- focaccia royale with with smoked salmon and paprika hollandaise on rosemary focaccia
- avocado on potato sourdough with whipped ricotta
- lemony ricotta toast with smoked salmon
- basil shakshuka topped with stracciatella cheese
- French toast topped with pistachio mascarpone, almonds and berries
