A new artist-run ceramics studio has launched in Brixton
Fancy learning something new? Or want something to do with your spare time that doesn’t involve at least one screen? We’ve got just the thing. Earthworks is a brand-new, south-London-based ceramics studio launched by graduates of the Royal College of Art as a safe space where recent graduates, local artists and emerging potters can find the technical support and equipment required to foster their creativity.
Londoners of all levels can sign up for one of Earthworks’ courses which are led by enthusiastic teachers who’ll guide you through how to perfect your throwing or handbuilding techniques. The class sizes allow for plenty of one-to-one learning, their curriculum is designed to let students develop an individual relationship with the craft and at the end of your course, you’ll have pieces to show off to your mates. Alternatively, if you want to just dip your toe in, join one of Earthworks’ weekend sessions which’ll give you a taste of wedging, centring and throwing on the wheel.

Earthworks requests a 10-day notice for cancellations. In such instances, they offer the option of transferring you to another course or providing a full refund, with the deduction of a £5 booking fee.
Due to fixed class schedules and full capacity, Earthworks is unable to accommodate makeup sessions for non-attendance or lateness.
Refunds are available under the following conditions: if requested 10 days or more before the start date, a full refund minus a £5 booking fee will be provided; between 10 and 5 days prior, a 50% refund minus the £5 fee will be issued; however, no refunds will be provided within 5 days of the start date or once the course begins.
You must also present your digital pass on arrival.
