Mallow in Borough Market is one of the best vegan restaurants in town and now another one is on the way as the team is expanding into Canary Wharf, making the first 100% plant-based joints in the neighbourhood. The Wood Wharf site will be split over two floors, with 150 covers spread over the indoor areas and outdoor terrace, and will be open all day taking you from brekkie right through to dinner and drinks.
Like the OG mallow, the new restaurant will serve up a menu that draws inspo from around the world, making use of seasonal veggies and a range of spices to really punch up the flavours. You can expect dishes like:
- spinach dahi puri with lime coconut sambol & blackcurrant tamarind chutney
- whipped feta garden plate with cacao quinoa soil, kalamata crackers & olive caviar
- burnt aubergine muhammara borek with green tabbouleh, baba ganoush cream & ezme
- créme brûlée with anise cherries & lemon snap
- mango chai masala tres leches with almond sesame chikki
- strawberry soju truffles
You can pair all of that with vegan wine, beer, and cocktails like raspberry basil margaritas, lemongrass tepache sours and lychee pitaya martinis – perfect for a summer evening out on the terrace.
