After some new art? Here’s where to get it
It’s art season in London and that means that the Affordable Art Fair is back in Battersea, featuring art from over 100 contemporary galleries from around the world. And, as you might guess from the name, all the prices will be affordable too, with works from household names and up-and-coming talent starting at £100.
Glasgow-based artist Beth Shapeero has created a bold installation to welcome people into the fair, and once inside, you’ll find a curated display of contemporary Black artists to mark Black History Month; a Director’s Cut section curated by Fair Director Hugo Barclay; and a Finds Under £500 section. The annual Graduates Exhibition is also returning, curated by art historian and podcaster Jo McLaughlin and featuring 30 young artists chosen from the UK’s leading art degree shows.
There’ll be Art After Dark Lates on Thursday and Friday, with DJs, drinks and an embroidery workshop with artist Joke Amusan, and Family Mornings will be running on Saturday and Sunday for little ones to get involved in face painting and giant colouring in. So if you fancy getting creative or you’ve got a few blank spaces on your walls that need filling, this is the fair for you.
