Calling all artists…Feeling uninspired in London’s smog and want nothing more than to take a few days off to ‘create’ in the Venetian countryside? Well, here’s your chance.
Generator Hostels is offering three artists the opportunity to spend a number of weeks creating and developing ideas in Venice. The Generator Residency Program was established as a way to support unknown artists, the program invites writers, poets, photographers, videographers, painters, illustrators and digital artists to take up residencies inside Generator hostels located all around Europe to both create and present their work in accessible and unpretentious environment.
Applications are now open for individual artists looking to take up residencies in the newly opened Venice property, located on the island of Giudecca in an old grain warehouse. Three residencies are open with each including travel, a private room, meals and a studio space. All three residencies are available between 10 January to 22 February 2014.
Entries are open now until 9th December and the winners will be chosen by an international panel of judges including Anwar Mekhayech, Creative Director and Co-Founder of ‘The Design Agency’ and Edward Hicks the world renown London-based mural artist.
