There is something undeniably pimp about ordering lobster. And since London is currently in the midst of a crustacean craze, there is no shortage of chances to get your bling on and pig out.
The latest to get creative with the ‘scavenger of the sea’ is seafood institution Geales who have recently added the Lobster Tail Burger to their menu. And since we love any opportunity to get all P.I.M.P we headed to their Chelsea restaurant to check it out.
Around since 1939, these guys know what they are doing when it comes to fishy dishes. We started with the Soft Shell Crab which was crisp and crunchy with a nice kick thanks to the accompanying Thai Dipping Sauce, while a generous serve of the deep Fried Squid with sweet chilli and garlic mayo had us fighting it out for the final morsel.
The Lobster Tail Burger comes with a tasty Thermidor sauce and chunky chips or if you’re keen to try a slightly different take on the crustacean, order the Lobster Tagliatelle. For those true ballers, the Malden Rock oysters are well worth a try, arriving with merlot vinegar & shallots…and a whole lot of cred. The Chelsea Tidy (a posh version of an Eton Mess) is a fitting finale if you’re looking for a fancy pants end to your meal.
Service is warm and attentive and being away from the thoroughfare of King’s Rd gives the restaurant a nice cosy feel. And if you ask nicely, they will totally look after your big rings and clock necklace while you tuck into the lobster burger. You don’t want it getting on your fur coat after all.
