FUGITIVE MOTEL TO OPEN IN BETHNAL GREEN

A new craft bar and kitchen – it’s definitely not a motel so don’t come looking for a bed – is coming to Bethnal Green as Fugitive Motel opens this June. Founded by David Burgess and Liam Tolan (both musicians formerly of The Brights and The Light Assembly), Fugitive Motel will serve up coffee from Climpson & Sons and fresh pastries in the morning, with sourdough pizzas, craft beer (with low and no ABV options also available on draft), natural wines and kombucha on tap coming on later in the day.

Taking design inspo from 1950s West Coast motels, the space will be decked out in pastels with a terrazzo bar and plenty of plants throughout, with industrial accents and sharing booths in the pizza lounge. There’ll even be a shuffleboard court in the bar so you can show off your skills.

Fugitive Motel will sit on the corner of a row of rail arches that are set for redevelopment this summer so this little patch could turn Bethnal Green Gardens into a new Paradise Row…watch this space.
