From the outside, you would be fooled by the vast size of Brach Paris
Covering 7000 sqm from basement to rooftop, this hotel is housed in a former 1970s sorting office. But there’s little resemblance to this inside as it’s been totally transformed by designer Philippe Starck, who has blended modern style with 1930s architecture to create a space that is both stylish yet cosy. This has been mainly done through the use of warm colours, a theme that applies throughout across the interiors and lighting.
There are four different room types to choose from at Brach. We checked into one of their executive rooms. The warm decor continues into the rooms, giving them a homely feel. Our room was split over two levels, with a grand bathroom up top (including a humongous bathtub and shower) and the bedroom below. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with light, with the ability to choose from four different stations for music really setting the ambience. The room was very spacious, especially by Parisian hotel standards, but if you did want to go all out, check into one of Brach’s suites, complete with its own Norwegian hot tub overlooking the Eiffel Tower – ooh la la.
If you’re visiting in the summer, definitely head up to Brach’s rooftop, it’s a real highlight. You get sweeping views of the city, plus there’s a hot tub and even a small urban garden with chickens. There’s also a first-floor terrace, so you’ve got a couple of spots to enjoy a cold glass of rosé in the sun.
Brach really leans into wellness, which is pretty unique given its central location. Downstairs in the basement, there’s a huge spa space with a 23-metre pool, gym, hammam, and even a salt cave – ideal for escaping the buzz outside. You can also pop in for a quick trim at the barber, and if you’re up for it, there are fitness classes too, with a programme including barre, kickboxing and TRX.
We’d argue it’s practically a crime to come to Paris and not eat your weight in pastries, and luckily at Brach, you don’t have to travel further than the lobby to indulge. Its in-house patisserie has signature treats like kiwi and mango shisho tart, fleur de cafe, and of course the classic chocolate eclair, on offer.
It also means the breakfast pastries are worth getting up for too but the menu isn’t all about buttery delicacies, there’s plenty of wellness-focused items like grapefruit detox tea, protein shakes and even collagen shots to choose from.
Brach is more than just a hotel, and we’d say it’s worth checking out even if you’re not staying the night. From its multi-functioning rooftop, its food and drink spots right down to its subterranean spa, it’s got that luxury feel but in a much more laid-back way, giving you a retreat without leaving the city.
