Though we all know food waste is such a huge issue, UK households are still throwing out a hell of a lot of food each week, with lettuce, bread and bananas amongst the most common ingredients that end up in the bin.

Elmlea is doing its bit to combat the problem by opening the Taste, Not Waste pop-up cafe to show people what can be done with leftovers and produce nearing its use-by date. The zero-waste menu features dishes like chicken with romesco sauce, vegetable masala curry with raita and cardamom rice, creamy mushroom tartlets, Eton mess, and salted caramel banana trifle. And all the dishes are FREE so just swing by the pop-up at lunchtime to get a meal on the house.

Check out what other pop-ups are popping up right here.
