Returning for her third Blank Canvas collection with British heritage brand Fred Perry, quirky designer Bella Freud goes back to her roots and delves into her own personal archive. Charged with on-trend 1970s nostalgia and renegade punk spirit the new Autumn/Winter collections is a palette of red, black, cornflower blues and a splash of tartan. Known for the distinctive font of her hand-written slogan sweaters, the ‘Beat Generation’ jumper is made from 100% extra fine 12-gauge Merino wool with intarsia lettering in ivory and gold Laurel Wreath embroidery on the sleeve.
The collection also includes gingham shirts in red and black both detailed with Freud’s instaria stars. The bold striped jumpers, which are our favourite from the collection, are made from a five-gauge mohair knit and will be take you from the office to those chilly cocktails on your fave rooftop. Freud’s reworking of the iconic Fred Perry polo paired with a subtle tartan skirt gives the look a more feminine edge.
