If you want a slice of Alpine life here in London, look no further than the city’s resident cheese fanatics over at The Cheese Bar in Camden Market and The Cheese Barge in Paddington. That’s right, they’re bringing Fondue Thursdays BACK, just in time for the festive season. From now until March you can drop by either location to get yourself a perfect pot of melted cheese every Thursday. And this year, they’ll be bringing on a new guest chef each month to keep things exciting.
To start things off, Bone Daddies will be in the kitchen putting their spin on the classic with Cornish Gouda. The usual lemon juice will be replaced with yuzu, kimchi will be used as the fondue base and there’ll be Japanese pickles and chicken karaage for dipping.
Next up will be chef Jay Morjaria of Tiger & Rabbit and Million Pound Menu, followed by Truffle Burger, and then Bong Bong’s Manila Canteen will be bringing some Filipino street food vibes. To finish up, there’ll be a mystery guest putting a twist on the cheesy fave, so keep an eye out for more news on that. For anyone who likes to keep things simple, you can opt for more traditional fondues including the Mayfield & Yarlington or the Cornish Gouda & Lincolnshire Poacher – both of which will be served with Coombeshead sourdough, potatoes, cornichons, roasted cauliflower, truffled mushrooms or braised pork belly.
