FOLIE TO OPEN IN SOHO

Guillaume Depoix, who’s worked for the Costes family as well as Alain Ducasse at Plaza Athénée in France and under Sir Terence Conran in London, is opening Folie in Soho. Taking over Pizza Express on Golden Square, he’s got a prime spot for his debut restaurant, which is set to be a modern all-day brasserie that goes from breakfast in the morning to cocktails at night.

Folie will have 100 covers across two floors, with the interiors drawing inspo from the French Riveria and 60s and 70s St Germain. Being a brasserie the food menu will cover plenty of bases with Executive Head Chef Christophe Marleix (ex- Grill at the Dorchester and Annabel’s) serving up fresh baked pastries; croque madames; sea bream crudo; Provencal braised beef; sharing dishes like whole confit lamb shoulder with basil baby potatoes and whole seabass with ratatouille; and a competitively priced lunchtime market menu.
