sing lovely lyrics that paint a quirky story to an 80’s sound filled with Collins-esque drum fills, Simon like percussion, and synths that twinkle like stars. It’s not too twee, the middle section is as beefy as an oxo cube, and the video celebrates some of London’s brutalist architecture. It’s a nice juxtaposition.
Light Me Up could be bleak on paper (a life of drabness and monotony brought to life with L.O.V.E) but could be just the tonic for these cold winter months.
