Watch out Skittles because Italian plant-based burger brand Flower Burger is coming to really let Londoners taste the rainbow. Flower Burger, which already has a handful of sites across Italy and France, is opening in Fitzrovia (starting with takeaway and collection) with a menu of vegan burgers in purple, yellow, green and pink buns. We thought/hoped that multicoloured food died a death with that rainbow bagel trend yet here we are again…
The burgers and buns are made with all-natural ingredients, like the Jungle Burger (a turmeric & spirulina green bun, red bean & oat patty, Flower cheddar, courgettes and smoky BBQ sauce) and the Cherry Bomb (a beetroot pink bun, lentil & rice patty, confit tomato and Flower cheddar). Sides and desserts like potato wedges, edamame, chocolate salami and a coconut, coffee & chocolate pudding seem to (thankfully) be their normal colours.
The same restraint hasn’t been applied to the interiors, which will feature kaleidoscopic and psychedelic graphics, a yellow submarine mural, colourful counter seating and candy-coloured swing chairs. It’s clearly been designed for the ‘gram but sounds like a recipe for headache to us.
