flor to open in borough market
Chef James Lowe and GM John Ogier, the team behind Lyle’s in Shoreditch, are opening a second site just off Borough Market this spring. Flor will be taking over the space where Pattiserie Lila used to be and it’ll be part wine bar, part bakery. The duo are billing it as a ‘little sister’ to Lyle’s, so the philosophy will be the same – quality ingredients from many of the same producers and suppliers – but the menu will be different. We don’t know what dishes to expect just yet but the team is taking inspiration from pintxos bars of San Sebastian and Parisian buvettes, with pastries available in the morning, sandwiches at lunch and flatbreads on offer for dinner. All the baked goods will be made in-house, using British wheat milled at Lyle’s, and they’ll be available to take away too. We’ll bring you more deets when we have them, so watch this space…
