There’s already been one new Flat Iron this year, opening in London Bridge back in January, but the group is plowing right on by opening another new restaurant, this time in Spitalfields. Open next to St John Bread and Wine, this one slipped in a bit under the radar – there had been talks about a Spitalfields site earlier in the year as trading at the other restaurants had been strong and it’s now here.

This restaurant references the Victorian houses of Spitalfields in its design and a cast-iron stove from the 1800s has been re-purposed to cook hot toffee sauce for the Flat Iron take on a sticky toffee pud. Aside from that, all the usual Flat Iron classics, like the £10 steaks and sides, are present and correct, and it seems Londoners just can’t get enough because another potential site is also in the works for later in the year.
