FIEND TO OPEN IN NOTTING HILL

Chris Denney, who was last cooking in London at 108 Garage, is coming back to the same neighbourhood with his new Notting Hill restaurant Fiend. Taking over the site where Santo used to be, Fiend will split across two floors with a large open kitchen and leather banquettes in the dining room and velvet chairs and low lighting in the downstairs lounge.

Fiend is promising to be “provocative, rebellious….and deliver an exquisite sensory experience” and they’ll be doing so with a la carte and six-course set menus featuring dishes like bulgogi sweetbread with kefir cabbage & green onion, wagyu short rib with smoked tomato & stilton, and leek vinaigrette with hazelnut & lardo. That’ll be accompanied by cocktails like the Corsica (with Tanqueray, Lillet Blanc & Pampelle), the Garibaldi (with Campari, orange, lime, passion fruit & mandarin soda) and the Monte Carlo (with bourbon, Benedictine and bitters). With Los Mochis already open and Sunday in Brooklyn joining the ‘hood very soon, maybe West is best for new openings this summer.

Opens Fri 23rd July 2021
301 Portobello Road, London, W10 5TD
