The team behind Nest in Hackney are turning their former spot Harlequin into Fenn this April, giving the place a new look and a bringing in a new chef. Joe Laker (formerly of Anglo) will be heading up the kitchen, who with Nest co-founder and exec chef Johnnie Crowe, has created a menu of locally-sourced seasonal British dishes like Lincolnshire Poacher cheese & truffle dumplings, hand-dived Scottish scallop with chicken butter sauce, aged Yorkshire beef with parsnip & pickled walnut, and English custard tart.
Co-founder Luke Wasserman has put together the drinks list featuring sustainable wines and seasonal cocktails. The last of the Nest trio, co-founder Toby Neill has overseen the interior redesign, adding a single hand-carved ash wood table in the centre of the dining room, folding French doors that open out onto a terrace area, a changing selection of art created by local artists and private dining room in the wine cellar. Fenn will be opening the terrace first, with indoor dining following in May.
