Famous Japanese Movies

In Japan the affinity with anime is well documented with the Japanese culture enjoying a long history of blending the popularity of anime with the excitement of the casino.

This may surprise a great many lovers of anime, but if you consider how much the Japanese enjoy games of chance and skill equally, games like roulette and slots which can be found at this website, its not so surprising that the casino makes it into anime films, after all the glitz and glamor of the casino has been a ripe breeding ground for many of the worlds best movies, songs and games.

Below is a list of some of the most popular anime movies which take a look at casinos and gambling life in general.

Kakegurui began life back in 2014 as a manga comic and the whole universe was created by author Homura Kawamoto with illustrations by Toru Naomura.

This movies has enjoy a great deal of success with the focus set in the special gambling school that teaches its students how to become expert card counters. Edgy and with a twist as when students don’t perform they must then become subservient to their peers. The whole world of the school is turned on its head by the arrival of a whimsical transfer student.

This unique anime series although six years old is still considered one of the best anime gambling movies of all time.

First published way back in 1991 by Fukumoto (who is the genius behind Kaeji) Akagi is an intense and dark anime which tackles with no punches held the topic of gambling. The movie proved to be a great success even though the subject matter was so dark. With a small-time gambler about to lose his life in a game of cards with the yakuza we see Akagi (the master gambler) arrive to play and then go on to defeat the yakuza gamblers.

Akagi is a complex movie and well worth your time – it is richly created in the true spirit on the anime movies, and remains a firm favorite with many.

Starting out as a comic which was both written and then illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto Kaiji is probably better known today as an anime series and hit live-action movie franchise even though it has been in publication since 1996.

Remember Akagi?  Well this story revolves around Kaiji and how he came to get into such a deal with the Yakuza which was to gamble his way to freedom. This stunning plot is a must-see, the project in itself is amazing and the movie does not disappoint

Legendary Gambler Tetsuya

Finally, we are going to look at this massively popular anime movie series which was first broadcasted across the globe in 2000.  The storyline centres about Tetsuya who defeats his opponents winning a great amount of money whilst the rest of Japan finds itself struggling in the wake of a war.

When Tetsuya is finally defeated by Boushu-san he goes on to realize how little he actually knows about the wide world of gambling, giving everything he has to get back to being at the very top of his game.

Legendary Gambler Tetsuya is a classic anime, and a great example of the genre at its very best – compelling and illustrated superbly, put it on your ‘must-see’ list if not already viewed.
