Facing Heaven has vegan Chinese food nailed so the crew behind the restaurant is doing something a bit different for its next act. Johnny Boy’s is an homage to neighbourhood Southern California joints that serve burgers, chilli, burritos and donuts, and it’s popping up at Hackney’s Number One Cafe for one night this April, turning the British caff into a West Coast kitchen. The menu includes classic American dishes like chilli cheese fries, patty melts, cheeseburgers, pastrami sandwiches, roast chicken with mac salad, breakfast burritos, and glazed donuts, which you can pair with margs, PBR beers, pink lemonade and Mexican Coke.
