Collaborations are everywhere at the moment, from the kitchen to your living room, and often, the more unlikely the duo, the better. This one is about as unlikely as they come: fabric the Farringdon club that’s spent decades soundtracking London’s biggest nights out, is teaming up with St Paul’s Cathedral for a series of contemporary music events running over the next four years. Who said ravers can’t be history buffs too?
Although it may sound like a stretch, the duo are no strangers. They collaborated on landmark performances from RY X and Patti Smith, who appeared at the Cathedral in 2023 and 2024 respectively. This new partnership turns that history into a four-year residency rather than one-off bookings.
St Paul’s has spent the last few years opening up to programming beyond the usual carols and evensong, and fabric’s involvement puts it in the same conversation as some of Europe’s more ambitious concert series. We expect the lineup will lean toward artists whose sound rewards a building built for sound to travel, rather than fabric’s usual 3am techno.
