EXPLORE THE GARDEN AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

If you’ve always wanted to have a nosy around the Queen’s backyard, now’s your chance as the Buckingham Palace Garden is opening for visitors this summer. You’ll be able to take a self-guided tour through the garden that will take you past the 156-metre herbaceous border, plane trees planted by Queen Victoria & Prince Albert, and views of the 3.5 acre lake and its island, with guided tours of the Rose Garden, summer house and wildflower meadow also running daily. You can spend your time checking out the variety of flora and fauna – there are over 1000 types of trees in the garden and 320 types of grasses and wildflowers – or you can have a picnic on the lawn and pretend you live in a palace.
