Luxury resort group One&Only opened its first property in Rwanda, One&Only Nyungwe House last autumn, and now with second hotel One&Only Gorilla’s Nest coming this November, you’ll be able to explore the country through a luxury twin-centre experience.
Located on the edge of Nyungwe Forest National Park in Gisakura, Nyungwe House showcases the Rwandan landscape, with epic jungle views throughout the resort; a spa suspended over the forest with treatments using natural skincare brand Africology; activities including canopy treetop walks, stargazing and Karamba and Mount Bigugu hikig trails; and farm-to-table dining courtesy of Executive Chef Treasure Makwanise, who draws inspo from traditional Rwandan dishes and the best seasonal produce to curate the daily menu – we were able to try his food in London and can confirm it is delicious.
One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, opening in the foothills of the Virunga volcano range in Kinigi, gives you the chance to see a different part of the country and Rwanda’s famous gorillas with lodges surrounded by eucalyptus trees and immersive trekking experiences. The resort also offers everything from coffee tasting to luxury spa treatments to daily changing farm-to-fork menus using ingredients picked from the chef’s garden.
