EX-POPHAMS PAIR TO OPEN ELINE IN HOXTON

Alex Reynolds and Maria Viviani, who both worked at Pophams (Alex has worked in the kitchens at Fenchurch, Hide and Seven Park Place and Maria did a stint at 108 in Copenhagen before baking at Pophams), are opening their own place called Eline in Hoxton later this year. Named after Alex’s late French grandmother, Eline will be a restaurant and wine shop showcasing French techniques, seasonal produce and natural wines.

Alex is in charge of the food and as well as making his own charcuterie, he’ll be doing a monthly changing a la carte menu featuring dishes like venison tartare with pickled celeriac & smoked hazelnuts, heritage pork with barigoule artichokes & bacon fat crisps, and religeuse with peanut gianduja & banana ice cream. Maria will be pouring the wines, most of them from small wineries in Europe with potentially a few British ones in there too, alongside three different craft beers, and wines by the bottle will also be available to buy from the wine shop. The pair are keen to make Eline the kind of place they would love to eat at as well as work at, so it sounds like it’s gonna be a real neighbourhood gem.
