We bought you news last year about The Palomar team buying The Blue Posts next door and refurbishing it and now we can tell you that the most exciting part, the basement restaurant, is finally about to open. The ground floor pub and first floor cocktail bar, The Mulwray, opened at the very end of 2017, and Evelyn’s Table will now join them this February. We are already loving the sound of the menu which includes cuttlefish ragout; polenta bramata and mammole artichoke; rock salt fillet of beef and bone marrow; and brussel sprouts with oyster sauce and sesame.
Located in the former beer cellar, the tiny restaurant will seat just 11 people around a kitchen counter and a further four people on two adjacent tables, bringing the total number of covers up to 15. If the queues at The Barbary and The Palomar are anything to go by, it’s going to be no easier getting in here! They do promise that half the seats will be bookable and half will be saved for walk-ins and at least you can now wait in either of the two bar areas of The Blue Posts. Bookings are now open so if you get in there quick you can be one of the first to try out what is sure to be a HOT new opening!
