The pasta just keeps on coming. We’ve already got the likes of Padella, Bancone, Pastaio and Lina Stores knocking out amazing fresh pasta and now Emilia’s Crafted Pasta is opening a second site in Aldgate. Much like the original site in St Katharine Docks, Emilia’s Aldgate will focus on regional pasta dishes inspired by traditional recipes, and you’ll be able to see all the action thanks to the restaurant’s open kitchen and pasta counter.
There’ll be a core menu of seven dishes, with the pasta shapes precisely matched to the sauce, including slow-cooked bolognese pappardelle, casarecce pasta with walnut and chestnut mushroom sauce, and bucatini carbonara. And thanks to a bigger kitchen, they’ll also be cooking up revolving specials, so be sure to check that board. As you’d expect, the drinks list will be largely Italian with Aperol Spritzes, Negronis and Italian wines and craft beers all on offer.
