ELD PIZZA OPENS IN HACKNEY

Pop-up concept Lagom, which fuses Scandi and British flavours using live fire cooking techniques, had been serving up dishes like smoked beef buns, grilled sea bass, pork ribs and grilled celeriac at Hackney Church Brew Co. Now Elliot Cunningham, the brains behind Lagom, has got into the pizza game with new spin-off brand ELD Pizza. After slinging out pizzas in Clapton in November, they’ve moved Hackney Road and taken over the old Bong Bong’s site (yes that’s the Filipino one Matt Hancock casually dropped 50k in…).

As well as classic margherita, marinara, ‘nduja and mushroom pizzas, they’ve been doing winter specials like fire-roasted squash with chevre, toasted seed & red onion, and salted lemon ricotta with pancetta & sage, chilli & maple dressing, so expect to see more of these on the menu. Plus there will be wine, lots of it. Looks like Hackney Road will be suitable for its very own episode of the Pizza Show soon with Yard Sale & newbie Nebula already sling slices out down the street.
