Clapton favourite Jim’s Cafe is hosting a one-day ‘Home Front Cafe’ this February to pay homage to the 80th anniversary of rationing in the UK. The pop-up will feature a three-course dinner designed by ‘One Pound Meals’ chef Miguel Barclay and will be FREE with the option to make a donation to The Royal British Legion.
Best known for his £1 meals made using minimal ingredients, Miguel has designed the dishes from simple rationed ingredients based on the weekly allowances people would receive back in 1940. On the menu will be a classic bubble and squeak with hollandaise sauce to start, followed by a leek and bacon quiche, with a poached pear to finish, with vegan and gluten free options also available.
