With DJs, giveaways, ice lollies and sandals up for grabs, this is not your average canal cruise. Dr. Martens has teamed up with City Daze for a one-off London takeover this weekend, turning a floating canal boat into a roving party space. Happening on Saturday 9th May, the Dr. Martens barge will cruise from Camden to Hackney Wick, with stop-offs across the city. And yes, the whole thing is free.
The line-up is strong too, with Bushbby, Shy One, Drybabe and Ruby Savage all playing sets, while Robin Ice Cream will be handing out free ice lollies at each stop. Some of those lollies will come with a winning ticket attached, which can be redeemed in Dr. Martens stores for summer socks, charms, or the chance to win a pair of Zebzag sandals.
The first stop is Hawley Wharf in Camden at 10.30am, followed by Granary Square Steps in King’s Cross at 12pm, before the barge pulls into No. 90 in Hackney Wick at 6.30pm for the final leg of the party.
