It’s a dark and brooding track, the delicate piano at perfect juxtaposition with the wonderfully gitchy drumbeat. It echoes those early Portishead tracks in it’s emotional power and intelligence.  Douglas Dare in his new release considers our double lives we live in the modern era with technology and ‘the real world’, whilst also getting stuck into classic Orwellian ideas – the track being called ‘Doublethink’ being the obvious give away.

With such a haunting voice, there’s instantly a sense of total honesty about the sparely arranged track. It’s a soundscape to get lost in.

Aforger is due for release 14th October on Erased Tapes
