The Filipino restaurant will be the seventh concept from the Maginhawa restaurant group
With ‘dirty ice cream’ brand Mamasons, Filipino bakery Panadera (aka one of the best sarnie spots in the city), fusion ramen joint Ramo Ramen, the Latin-Caribbean Guanabana, Filipino pan-Asian restaurant Bintang and the West African-Caribbean Moi Moi Island to its name, it’s fair to say that the Maginhawa group, founded by Florence Mae Maglanoc and Omar Shah, has built quite the restaurant empire. And it’s about to get bigger thanks to Donia.
The new spot, opening on the top floor of Kingly Court where Imad’s Syrian Kitchen used to live, will blend Filipino flavours and recipes with British produce with dishes like crispy roast pork with liver peppercorn sauce; chicken inasal with a butter emulsion; and prawn & pork dumplings with white crab, lime butter sauce and chilli oil. Sounds like Donia will be a great new addition to the Kingly Court restaurant roster.
