While we’re all out shopping for new winter coats, thousands of Londoners will be going without this winter
So, instead of just shoving your old coat to the back of the wardrobe, never to see daylight again, donate it to WrapUp London. The annual campaign, now in its 14th year, collects unwanted coats and passes them along to charities that support those experiencing homelessness, the elderly, refugees, children living in poverty and people fleeing domestic violence. Since 2011, the organisation has donated more than 228,400 coats and it supported 75 project last year alone.
Got a coat you never use anymore in mind? It’s incredibly easy to get involved. To kick off the 2024 campaign, WrapUp will set up drop-off points at Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Waterloo and London Bridge tube stations from 5th – 7th November. Then there’ll be a host of other drop-off locations opening across the city for the remainder of the month – keep an eye out here to find your nearest one – open until 24th November.
