Don Julio Tequila is celebrating Día de Muertos this year by bringing the pop-up Panadería Don Julio to London, taking over Toklas Bakery for three days. Acclaimed Mexico City bakery Rosetta, led by Michelin-starred chef Elena Reygadas, will be doing its Pan de Muerto (‘bread of the dead’), a traditional Mexican sweet bread scented with orange blossom that’s traditionally baked in memory of loved ones, as part of the Día de Muertos celebrations. By day the space, decorated with marigolds and candlelit Ofrendas, will host cocktail masterclasses and a curated bodega by Milagros. Come evening, it transforms into a speakeasy serving signature cocktails from Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy, (recently crowned World’s #1 Bar by 50 Best Bars) to the soundtrack of DJ sets.
