Ifa friend was to invite you to Doga…you’d probably think car park, Mile End, depending on which circles you move in. But now you’d be wrong. Doga is in fact a new craze which practices the mediation of yoga with mans best friend. We’d have guessed that this would have been invented somewhere in the capital of the weird and wonderful that is LA, born from a mind of someone with exceedingly white teeth. Well we are wrong, this Doga comes from Mahny Djahanguiri who was born in Switzerland to a British mother and Iranian father and has set up shop here in London.
Mahny states ‘Just like humans, dogs equally benefit from yoga. In Doga, the parasympathetic nervous system of your pooch is activated through sound and touch. The owner practices human yoga whilst performing canine acupressure and massage on their pooch which helps to alleviate stress and anxiety.’
Bringing new meaning to the ‘downward facing dog’ pose im sure this will keep you and your friends talking for weeks. To find out more about Doga near you visit their website where you can book yourself and your pet on to one of their sessions.
