For the first time, Dishoom is hosting a celebration of Chand Raat (meaning ‘night of the moon’), which marks a new moon, the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and the eve of the Islamic festival Eid al-Fitr. People of all faiths, whether fasting or not, are invited to join the feast which will be held at Landing Forty Two on the 42nd floor of The Cheesegrater, with all proceeds to go to Dishoom’s charity partner, Akshaya Patra.

At sunset, everyone will communally break their fast with the dates, salad and snacks served, while watching night fall across London. Then, the call to prayer will be led by Hassen Rasool, before guests take their seats for a one-of-a-kind dinner of Dishoom dishes, including lamb raan, jackfruit biryani, keema pau, dahi vada, and basmati kheer for dessert. Dishoom’s signature house chai will be served also be served throughout and there’ll be live music after dinner. £30 tickets go on sale on 22nd April so mark your calendars.
