The former Sichuan Fry site is now a kebab shop
Simon Bays, aka Alien Communications, is best known for being a DJ but he’s got another major passion outside of music – doner kebabs. And now he’s brought that to life with his very own kebab shop that’s just opened in London Fields. Dirty Donny’s is doing dripping kebabs and fully-loaded fries all-day long.
There are four kebabs, inspired by four great kebab cities, on the menu and you can get them in pide, in dürüm, on chips or with salad. They include:
- Istanbul – lamb shoulder, salad, pickles and romesco
- London – beef & lamb blend, salad, pickles, garlic and chilli
- Berlin – marinated chicken thigh, feta, salad, pickles and chilli
- Alexandria – homemade falafel, salad, fermented pineapple and chilli
You can pair those with sumac salted or cheese-topped chips, and finish with Turkish bread pudding with pistachio cream. Given Simon’s music connections and the fact that KT, Lukas Wigflex, Papa Nugs and Theo Kottis played at the Dirty Donny’s launch party, you should expect a banging soundtrack too.
